Eat the damn cake.
I used to save things for best. Why? I am a child of the 50s and 60s where you got dressed up for a Sunday outing, church, going into town. You brought out the best china for visitors, the better teapot etc. Now......I say eat the damn cake. Use it, enjoy it. Wear pearls when you want to. Now I use my tea set 1928 heirloom. I have icecream from my nasturtium plates c1930. I wear my pearls. Life is for living, not a china cabinet
